This new Brad Gates selection is an absolute masterpiece! Slicing-type fruits are stunning, inside and out! This sister selection to Blue Beauty yields loads of 5-ounce, beefsteak-type fruits, very meaty and containing very few seeds. First they ripen yellow, then more toward orange when very ripe. Incredibly attractive with the black anthocyanin splashes really contrasting with the lighter colored skin.

Black from Tula

Black from Tula (Ukrainian Heirloom)

An old heirloom that originated in the Ukraine many years ago. The 10-12 ounce oblate fruit are dark reddish black with green shoulders and have a very rich taste. The gel capsules inside the tomato are green. One of the best “black” tomatoes available. They add color to salads and make delicious tomato sandwiches. (80 days from transplant).

Three inch 3″ flattish dark brown fruits, green shoulders persist.

Indigo Apple Tomato (Opon Pollinated)

Immature fruits show deep purple, almost black coloration, which is caused by high anthocyanin (an anti-oxidant). The 2- to 4-ounce, cherry-type fruit turn red when ripe, have a good, complex yet sweet tomato flavor. A descendant of the famed OSU Blue Fruit tomato. The pendant clusters of immature black fruit present a striking appearance in the garden! Resists sun-scald and cracking, lasting long into cool autumn weather when others have quit. Black Prince (Heirloom)

This is a Siberian tomato is fairly early and one that is more apt to set fruit in cool climates. The small, dark-red, slightly pear-shaped fruits begin maturing a little more than 2 months after planting. Very Productive indeterminate plant.

85 days. This Belgian tomato yields large 1 to 1-1/2 lb tomatoes. Recognized by its striking mix of green and red interior flesh. A real heirloom conversation piece. Served sliced to show it off. Despite its color, the name is French for Black Pineapple.. The skin has shades of green, purple, orange, and yellow. Bright green flesh has bursts of red streaks that will definitely add intrigue to your vegetable platter. The lip smacking flavor starts out sweet and ends with the perfect amount of tang. What’s more, the sprawling indeterminate plant yields a tremendous amount of 1 1/2 pound fruits.

Very large, indeterminate, regular-leaf tomato plants that yield a plentiful crop of 3-4 inch, mahogany colored with dark, olive green-striping (similar to black zebra).  Fruits have delicious, complex, rich, sweet, earthy tomato flavors. Chocolate Stripe, another desirable ‘black tomato,” is an excellent tomato and a fine choice for your tomato garden. Produces well into the autumn A great sandwich tomato and salad tomato. (
